Suspicious Royal Mail Text Message

We have been advised by the Police of a suspicious text message circulating that appears to have been sent by the Royal Mail.

The message is sent from an unknown mobile number and advises the recipient that there is a parcel awaiting delivery, but that a delivery fee of £2.99 must be paid by clicking on a link, otherwise the parcel will be returned to the sender.

Do not click on the link. Block and deleted the message. This message is very convincing and many are likely to fall victim to it.

If you receive this message, the mobile number can be reported to Action Fraud by going on their website.

If you are unsure that a message or email sent from the Royal Mail is legitimate, the Royal Mail website offers guidance and examples to help you spot a scam message .
